EARLIER JOBS
     
 

17 Years Old
Worked on assembly line at Mothers Cookies 2nd shift after school had to cut last period study hall. Worked until let go for being under age. Also worked weekends for builders extra arm.

14 to 16 Years Old
Delivered newspapers by bicycle. Had one of the largest paper routes in Louisville -- 300 papers every morning. Had to get up at 4 o'clock each morning, fold papers, deliver before school. Also sold shoes and stocked after school at Ben Snyder Department Store for $1.60 per hour. Worked for Step-father Roy Basham whom was a large homebuilder doing odd jobs, picking up bricks, cleaning houses, and installing insulation.

8 to 14 Years Old
Had grass cutting / snow removal business including one commercial account for a trailer park. Sold greeting cards door to door. Also caught and sold large snapping turtles from creek for $20 each. Almost lost the tip of my finger at 8 from a turtle bite. There is both talent and nerve that go with that job.

8 Years Old
Sold my first house (ours). My mother and father had recently gotten a divorce, father was gone. Bank foreclosing, I went to church, the preacher asked if anyone had anything to say. I went from back to podium, and asked if anyone wanted to buy a house. That day a member bought our house. It was sold
